The Eufy 11S is one of the most affordable best self emptying robot vacuum for pet hair-emptying robot vacuums available. It efficiently sucked up dry oatmeal from hard floors and carpets with a low pile during our tests. Its dustbin is easy to empty and openmuch easier than some other models in the same price range.

It charges at its base, and then it resumes cleaning as soon as it's done. Its obstacle-avoidance tech gets tangled in cords and socks and it can't get under the thresholds of low.

1. iRobot Roomba 11S

The 11S is one the cheaper self-emptying robot vacuum for pets robots available and lots of people seem to adore it. It is good at getting under furniture and is a good choice for those with hard floors or who do a lot of cleaning. The suction is less powerful than our top picks but it's still able to do the job. It also comes with a huge dirt bin and a battery that can last for more than an hour. The app lets you schedule your daily cleaning or choose a specific room. It's also possible to create a map of your home, which could aid in avoiding areas you don't want it to visit.

The app is easy to use and has a clear layout. It doesn't come with any advanced features, but it's straightforward enough to use and makes it easy to track the status of your robot. It also has an informative tutorial that can guide you through the basics.

Its cleaning patterns don't always look logical - sometimes it is straight lines, other times it focuses on the edges of a room - but Bounce Navigation ensures your entire floor is cleaned. It's not the most effective at climbing over obstacles. It was unable to get under our pet food bowls and piano pedals, and got caught in our 2.25 inch shag carpet several times.

We think that there are better robot vacuums on the market than the 11S. The iRobot Roomba 694 is better-built and easier to maintain, has lower ongoing costs, and is less time-consuming to charge. It also has a larger dustbin and is more effective on all surface types and is able to get over obstacles that are low (like electrical cords) more easily.

The RoboVac 11S, which is eufy, is an excellent choice for everyday vacuuming. It has a very similar design to our top pick and is great at picking up smaller and fine dust from hard floors. It also does a decent job on low-pile and medium-pile carpet. Similar to the Roomba by iRobot Roomba it also comes with a large dirt compartment, and it uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It also comes with an adjustable remote that is easy to use, and you can program daily cleaning routines with the app. The battery lasts for around an hour, and the dustbin can be easily empty by removing it from its dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is a fantastic robot vacuum and mop with a surprisingly wide array of features for automation. The Roborock S7 MaxV comes in three models that include the basic S7 model as well as the S7 Plus model, and the S7 Ultra. The latter model is the only one with an Empty Wash Fill Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the best robot vacuum with mapping and self empty to return to its base, empty the collected debris into a dust bag or reservoir, empty the dirty water tank, and wash its mopping pads.

The S7's sensors work to eliminate obstacles and clean floors. It can detect the types of floors, save a map of rooms and zones, and even detect dirt levels. It's also capable of scheduling and running spot-cleaning sessions. It did well in our tests, but it wasn't able to quite match the iRobot Roomba j7+ in our carpet deep clean test.

Using the companion app, you can program the S7 to run a cleansing cycle according to your schedule. You can choose a time either day or week, as well as select among a range of cleaning modes such as eco, automatic and deep clean. You can also choose whether the robot will stop if its power runs out or when it comes across an obstruction.

You can still use the S7 even if you don't own an iPhone by connecting an charging dock to a remote control. The power button functions as an all-purpose 'Clean' button and the 'Spot Clean' button directs the robot to clean the area around it. The "Spot Clean" button also activates the child lock.

3. Shark IQ SX

Shark's robot vacuums aren't as a hit as those from iRobot or Roborock. However, our tests on the ground have proven that Shark's model is among the most effective self-emptying vacuums that are available. It is simple to set up, comes with a huge bin that is easy to empty (albeit slightly loudly) into a trash bin when full, and can easily be programmed to do a complete home clean on a schedule or when required.

The IQ XL is able to connect to your WiFi at home which allows you to keep track of its progress on cleaning from the Shark app. The app allows you to program a cleaning routine and also receive push notifications on its current status in cleaning, pause it and then clean up, or set it for a single area. You can also control it via voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will inform you what power mode it's currently in, namely Eco, Normal, or Max. However, we couldn't determine that any of these modes made a significant difference to the cleaning performance.

When it's finished a cleaning cycle when it's finished, the IQ XL automatically empty the bin into its base, which then self-empties. The bin can store up to 60 days of debris, so you don't need to empty it more than once unless your pets have hair that is long. If you have to empty it, simply take the side container off and place it over your trash can and press a button.

There's nothing to dislike about the Shark IQ XL, although it feels a bit less well-built than the Roomba 694. It's good of cleaning carpeted floors but doesn't match the iRobot Roomba i7 when it comes to bare floor performance. The i7 is also built better and feels more durable. It is robust, has less demanding maintenance requirements, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, charges faster while offering comparable battery performance, and comes with much more advanced automation features like no-go zones as well as the ability to pick certain rooms to be cleaned.

iRobot j7+

This robot vacuum and mop combo is a rare beast that can perform both tasks efficiently. iRobot Combo j7+ has all the smarts and features of its j7 counterpart, including LiDAR maps and self-emptying robot vacuum for pets. It also comes with additional features for vacuuming and mopping.

The j7+ makes use of the latest acoustic sensor to determine the type of floor, so that it can vacuum or mop the room during its initial pass. This information can also be utilized to help prioritize cleaning rooms that have carpets and rug versus those with hard flooring.

As with most robotic vacuums the j7+ is surprisingly quiet while it's running. It's much quieter when mopping. The highest reading we could get on our decibel meter was 64db, which is similar to the background noise of office chatter.

It's easy to set an appointment for cleaning and change what the j7+ does when its dust container is full. The j7+ can also be controlled by voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.).) for a hands-free approach and the app lets you create and explore maps of your home.

The j7+ performed admirably in our tests of both hard and carpeted floors, getting rid of all the dirt we tossed at it. It has some issues with pet hair and large debris such as sand, but it can remove these items with a little extra effort. It has excellent navigational capabilities and two cliff sensors that stop it from falling down the stairs or getting caught on furniture legs.

We did find a few minor niggles with the j7+. These include that it could snag cords and rugs, and that it doesn't always switch off its mopping once it's done vacuuming. This is a great model that ticks all the boxes.

iRobot j7+ has also one of the top auto-emptying systems that we've ever tested. It puts its 14oz 0.4-liter dust canister into the base station, where it will automatically empty itself for you. This will reduce the amount of trash that you have to get rid of. You will only have to replace the dust disposal bag at the dock every 60 days, depending on how frequently you use the J7+.
