The Eufy 11S robotic vacuum is among the most affordable self-emptying vacuums available on the market. In our tests it was able to clean up dry oats on hard floors as well as carpets with a low pile. Its dust bin is open and empty easily, making it easier to use than other models in the same price.

It is charged at its base and then it resumes cleaning as soon as it's ready. However, its obstacle-avoidance technology is caught in cords and socks, and it can't go under low thresholds.

Its suction is a bit less powerful than our top picks, however it's still able to do the job. It also has a large dirt bin and a battery that can last for over an hour. The app lets you schedule daily cleanings or select a particular room. It's also possible to draw a map of your home, which could aid in avoiding areas you don't want to go to.

The app is simple to use and has a clean layout. It doesn't come with any advanced features, but it's straightforward enough to use and makes it easy to keep track of the progress of your robot. It also has a tutorial which will guide you through the basics.

Bounce Navigation's cleaning patterns aren't always rational. Sometimes it follows straight lines and other times, it focuses on the edges of a space. But it cleans your entire floor. It also has a larger dustbin and is more effective on all surfaces, and it can climb over low-lying obstructions (like electrical cords) more easily.

The RoboVac 11S, which is eufy, is an excellent choice for regular vacuuming. It is designed very similarly to our top pick, and it excels at picking up fine dirt and larger debris on hard floors. It also does a good job on low-pile and medium-pile carpet. Similar to the iRobot Roomba it also comes with a large dirt compartment, and it uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It also comes with a remote control that's easy to operate and allows you to program daily cleaning routines with the app. The battery lasts about an hour and the dustbin can be easily empty by removing it from its dock.

2. Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a great robot with an impressive array of features for automation. It comes in three options, the basic S7, the S7 MaxV Plus, and the S7 MaxV Ultra. The S7 MaxV Ultra is the only one equipped with an Empty Wash Fillet Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its base following a cleaning session and empty the debris into a dust collection bag or reservoir, drain its dirty water tank, and clean its mopping pad.

Sensors on the S7 work in tandem to clean and avoid obstacles. It can identify flooring types and save a map of rooms and zones, and even detect dirt levels. It's also capable of scheduling and executing spot cleaning sessions. It was able to perform well in our tests, though it couldn't exactly match the Roomba j7+ during the carpet deep clean test.

You can program the S7 with the companion app to run a cleansing cycle according to your schedule. You can choose a time either day or week and select among a range of cleaning modes such as automatic, eco and deep clean. You can also select whether the robot will stop when its power runs out or if it encounters an obstruction.

You can still use the S7 even if you don't have an iPhone by connecting the charging dock to the remote control. The remote controls are a little confusing initially, but once you've got the hang of them, they work great. The power button doubles as an all-purpose 'Clean' button and the 'Spot Clean' button directs the robot to clean the area around it. The "Spot Clean" button also activates the child lock.

In addition to the new mapping features, Roborock improved its mobile app, adding live view that lets you see what the S7 is up to at home. You can enable this feature by pressing a particular sequence of buttons on the S7 and then creating an unlock pattern in the app to use any time you wish to check out what the robot is up to.

3. Shark IQ SX

Shark isn't as well-known for its robot vacuums as iRobot and Roborock, but our hands-on testing of this model has proven it to be among the best self emptying robot vacuum and mop self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner self emptying vacuums available on the market. It's simple to set up, comes with an enormous bin that's easy to empty (albeit slightly loudly) into a trash can when it is full and is easily programmed to do a complete home clean on a schedule or as required.

The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi and allows you to monitor it from the Shark app and see its battery levels as it cleans. The app lets you program a cleaning routine, receive push notifications regarding its condition in cleaning, pause it and then restart cleaning, or set it to only one area. You can also control it using voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will show you which power mode is currently selected such as Eco, Maximum, Normal, however, we discovered that none of these modes made any significant improvement in the performance of cleaning.

The IQ XL will automatically empty the dustbin at the end of a cleaning cycle into the base, and then self-empty. Its bin holds up to 60 days of trash and won't require emptying more often than that, unless you own lots of pets with long hair. If you need to empty it you can simply remove the side container, hold it over your trash bin and push the button.

There isn't much to dislike about the Shark IQ XL, although it is a little less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It's effective of cleaning carpeted floors however, it's not as effective as the iRobot Roomba i7 when it comes to bare floor performance. The i7 is also more robust and feels more durable. It is robust, has less demanding maintenance requirements, incurs lower monthly costs, and charges faster, while offering similar battery performance, and comes with much more advanced automation features such as no-go zones and the capability to choose specific rooms to keep clean.

iRobot J7+

This robot mop/vac combo is a rare find, because it can do both tasks exceptionally efficiently. iRobot's Combo j7+ offers all the smarts of its j7-based counterpart, including self-emptying and LiDAR mapping, however, it also comes with additional features for vacuuming and mopping.

The new acoustic sensors aid the j7+ identify floor types, so it can choose between vacuuming and mopping when it first enters the room. This information is also used to prioritize cleaning rooms that have carpets and rugs versus those with hard flooring.

As with most robotic vacuums the j7+ is surprisingly quiet while it's running. It's even less noisy when it's mopping. The highest reading we could get on our decibel meter was 64db, which is similar to the background noise of office chatter.

You can easily create a cleaning schedule and alter what happens when the dust canister gets full. The j7+ can be controlled by voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Assistant and others. The app allows you to create and view maps from your home.

The j7+ did well in our tests on both hard and carpeted flooring, and was able to remove all the dirt we tossed at it. It isn't the best robot vacuum mop self empty at dealing with pet hair and large debris such as sand, however it can remove these items with a little extra effort. It has excellent navigational capabilities and two cliff sensors that stop it from falling down stairs or getting stuck on furniture legs.

We did discover a few minor niggles with the j7+, mainly that it can get caught on rugs and cords and that it doesn't always switch off its mopping once it's done vacuuming. Otherwise, this is an excellent model that checks all the right boxes.

The j7+ from iRobot also has one of the best robot vacuum and mop combo self empty self-emptying systems that we've tested. It dumps its 14oz/0.4-liter dust canister in the base station, and it automatically emptys itself. This will reduce the amount of trash that you need to get rid of. It is only necessary to replace the bag at the dock once every 60 days, depending on how frequently you use the J7+.
