The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities abroad and doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an area of growth for Washlet toilets and bidet seats, as opposed its "base" markets in Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto was recording Toto words to ensure the next generation could read them. However, many words were replaced with foreign words, such as dui, which is Bengali for verandah.

Origins

Established in 1917, Toto's beginnings mirrored Japan's growth. In the first half, Toto manufactured products to meet the demands for modern, brand new urban housing. In the late 1980s, the company began to expand overseas to benefit from sales and new markets. It launched the Cera Trading Company, importing and distributing other products from other manufacturers to complement its own lines of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. In the 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis to research and development of household appliances that are water-related. It also improved its system of distribution to better serve customers and improve profit. The company embraced a just-in time approach to managing its supply chain and used the same method for its sales process. This resulted in a greater degree of customer satisfaction.

Toto has been able to continue to innovate with regard to toilet technology. The latest toilet, for example it has a strong tornado flush that is more eco friendly than traditional toilets. With a name like Asia you'd expect the group to be prog queens and kings but they're actually a fairly straightforward rock band. The band began as a four-piece and 스포츠토토 released two albums that were self-titled in 1979 and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. But even though the band have a variety of musical backgrounds their biggest hit came in 1982 with Toto IV.

The album was a huge blockbuster, but it was not without its share of problems. The record companies put the band under pressure to deliver the top single or they would drop the album. Luckily for Toto, they did with the help of the smash hit single "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is a result of their previous experience. Before forming the group, the members worked as session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their distinctive sound has become the norm for pop music from the 1980s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.

The album opens with a strong and pounding sound, with songs such as Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write fantastic AOR songs that slowly get their hooks into you. The album also includes some jazzier, slower tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album ends with Great Expectations. This song mixes folk and distorted AOR, which should appear completely unnatural, but actually works extremely well.

After Toto IV, the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band had to go through various drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the group in the after he was charged with drug abuse. the band continued as a trio featuring Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.

Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It was not as well-liked as IV. However, the band was able to release a chart-topping album in the year 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the conclusion of the original Toto lineup and was also the first album featuring the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Tours

The band has performed all over the globe to an audience of millions, with sold-out shows in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia and New Zealand. The band has a wide repertoire, and its catalog has been played more than one billion times via streaming services all over the globe. The band's music has influenced many generations of fans.

Steve Lukather and Joe Williams have formed a strong, colorful friendship that thrives professionally on a global scale. In 2018 the duo celebrated their 40th anniversary of Tours Around The Sun with a hugely successful global tour. The album with the same name landed at #5 on the Billboard 200. The new tour by the band features their greatest hits and rarely live cuts, along with a selection of songs from Lukather and Williams their individual catalogs.

Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album is a return to a traditional sextet style, and a more consistent, stronger album with a sharper edge. The more edgy sound of the album was a reflection of the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency on the drums, as well as an improved, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was also more sophisticated, sharper and less akin to earlier efforts.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded their Amsterdam live performance which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released a new studio album a few months after, and went on a world tour to promote it. During this period keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started searching through old tapes and demos for a new record featuring songs that had never been recorded before. It was completed in the form of a double-album called Then And Now in 2001. It was the first album in the history of the band not to feature any single song that had the word "A" in its title and it included one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. Additionally, Hungate returned to Nashville and drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the founding members of Asia were in England early in 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be reformed. This lineup, with the exception of Howe (who was working with Yes at the time), eventually became known as Toto XIV and toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also had a guest appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
