1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is equipped with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that offers better mapping and obstacle avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'd find in self-driving cars and is able to scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. That translates into more precise mapping, faster response times, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also has an adjustable mopping pad made of chenille fabric. This makes it much easier to scrub difficult areas more effectively than traditional mop. During my tests the X2 Omni washed its pad in just over a second and was ready to go. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models, which seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms, as well as make "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station regularly to empty the dustbin and clean the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni performed impressively during my tests, with outstanding scores in the removal of pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as near-perfect results for crevice and edge cleaning.

The Deebot T10 is a fantastic robot vacuum that produces impressive results. It was able to vacuum up more than 96% of the debris we tossed at it on our hardwood floors and floors, which is a remarkable performance. It was a success on carpets and tiles cleaning up the majority of dirt.

This robot vacuum and mop has a large docking station that offers cool water auto-cleaning for its mop pads, and auto-emptying into a 3L bag that is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It's a mid-range robot cleaner that's appealing, even if its promise of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't make sense.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with the sweeping wheels, as well as an elevated sensor. On the other hand, you'll see a motorised floorbrush as well as one side brush that moves dust away from the edges and into the main artery of its' mouth.' It's a little chatty, as well, and will let you know what it's going to do next ("start cleaning") or warn you that something is wrong (it does not have enough power to charge, for example).

In our hardwood floor and kibble tests the robot performed very well and picked up everything from one grain of rice to multiple pieces of dog food in one pass. It had some trouble transitioning to rugs, however, in general, this vacuum cleaner is ideal for rooms that have both types of flooring and a variety of pets.

The A4s Pro is expensive however it's a great purchase for those who want to be able to leave the house with no hands on so they can do other things or do chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto cleaning mode that boosts suction power to tackle tough dirt and spills, and is equipped with batteries that power the ElectroWall that allows you to place boundaries where the robot is not allowed to enter.

This budget-friendly option from a well-known upstart brand is the most affordable robot we've tested yet and offers an exceptional value for the price. Its navigation system is basic and uses a super-basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, which makes it less efficient than other models on this list. However it's still able reach under furniture and in corners and its mopping mode was very effective in our testing and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris easily.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not appear as durable however, it's better in cleaning pet hair off all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles and floor surfaces that are bare. It also uses intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve mobility. It can be sent to a particular area and includes a variety of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It also lets you stop and restart cleaning sessions, so it's perfect for homes with pets.

The self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles with pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying bagless docking station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be cleaned. It comes with angled side brushes to reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, allergens and dander.

This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It works with a smartphone application which lets you alter the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app lets you check the remaining battery life of the iQ, and send push notifications if it encounters any issues during a cleaning session. You can make use of your voice to control it with an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device or, if you don't have either options, you can mark areas with physical boundary strips.

The iQ is great for cleaning floors that aren't clean and is able to do well on carpets that are sagging and low-pile. However it's not able to provide the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It's also costly and the cost of recurring use can increase.
