Its navigation is superb and it is able to navigate a massive, single-story house with both bare and carpeted floors. It was able, during our tests, to return to the docking station once the cleaning cycle was completed. Its ability to map and detect dirt are also impressive. It can remember patterns and find debris on the floor. It can even go under and around many obstacles, such as table legs and chair seats.

The drawback of the 960 is that it doesn't have the carpet boost technology available on the 980. Also, its carpet cleaning performance is a bit below the standards that other models have in the line. It is still a good option for homes with a lot of space and is priced at a fair price.

Like all robot vacuums The 960 will require replacement maintenance parts periodically.
