Best Roomba Vacuum Cleaner

This is a good option if you are looking for a basic robotic cleaner without the advanced features of other models. It was great at getting rid of pet hair, Cheerios and kitty litter on hardwood floors.

It is fast and accurate in mapping rooms, and avoids obstacles well. It can be operated manually by using the remote included.

1. Roomba iRobot s9+

The s9+ is the most effective robot vacuum we've tested cleaning hard floors and carpeting. It has the strongest suction power of any robotic vacuum cleaner available. It also does an excellent job in getting rid of pet hair. It can also be programmed to make multiple passes or alter the level of suction depending on the size of the room, which is something we haven't yet seen on other models. Its app allows you to modify the way it operates, and even select the time it starts working so that you can be present in the room as it moves around.

Smart mapping produces a comprehensive home map that can help the S9+ navigate efficiently and determine routes. It is also self-emptying so you don't need to be there to help. It is also able to recharge itself in mid-clean. In our tests the s9+ was able to maneuver over obstacles such as tables and power cables effortlessly and did not lose its charge or got stuck. However, it lacks the hazard-avoiding capabilities of the latest models and could be caught in a knot on rug tassels and other obstacles that it's not able to see.

In contrast to most circular robots the s9+ is flat-fronted and has an angled front that lets it to get into corners more easily than models with rounded fronts. It's also quieter than our previous iRobot robot and is smaller than the Neato Botvac D7. It's not cheap, but it's an excellent value for the price given the quality of its performance and the fact that you don't have to worry about cleaning an unclean bin following the use. Plus, it's often available during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day.

2. IRobot Roomba J7+

The J7+ is one of the most advanced robot cleaners available. It is equipped with iRobot Genius Technology, which allows it to sense obstacles and navigate around them. This means you do not have to worry about the robot hitting walls or furniture. It slows down as it approaches an item to gently clean its edges. This is particularly helpful when you have pets that leave a mess behind.

Another excellent aspect of the J7+ is that it can mop as well as vacuum using a specially designed mopsitter. When it detects that you're on a floor that needs to be mopped it switches to its standard cleaning mode and activates an arm that has a pad. It sweeps the floor with an eerily-smooth motion that left my floors looking and feeling like they'd been properly cleaned.

After cleaning the j7+, it returns to its dock and recharges. It then drives back to the spot where it started, and continues cleaning. It usually runs for around 85 minutes, or more or less, in my house before needing to return to the dock for a recharge. This is less than the s9+, however it's nonetheless impressive for a device that does both vacuuming as well as mopping.

As with other iRobot cleaners, the j7+ identifies obstacles that block its path and avoids them. It also comes with what iRobot calls Cliff Detect technology, which prevents it from taking a tumble down the stairs. It's an excellent security feature for families with children.

The j7+ has an onboard bin that is small, so it will need to return to the dock and empty it often if you live in an extensive home. The J7+ can be stored easily. The Clean Base that comes with it functions as charging dock, an external dustbin, and an internal bin that the j7+ can put dirt into.

3. Shark iQ

This 2-in-1 robot vacuums carpets and hard surfaces at the same time. It also comes with Matrix Clean Navigation, which utilizes a grid of a matrix to give you a full-home cleaning coverage. The vacuum empties itself after every run and you can check the current status and battery life by observing a pair of lights above. To empty the dirt receptacle, just push a button that unlocks the bin. It can hold up a full week's worth trash and is easy to empty from anywhere in the home.

Despite its impressive performance on unfinished carpet, this model does have some issues with carpets with low pile and struggles to suck up heavy debris as the dirt compartment gets full. However, it is sturdily constructed and has a lengthy battery life, which you can extend using the eco-friendly 'Eco' mode.

The Shark IQ is compatible with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which means you can operate it with your voice. The app lets you name your robot (mine is Sharky Shark), remotely activate and schedule its runs, and also view your cleaning history and any error notifications. You can even create a map of your home and manually create zones that are not allowed to enter.

The Shark iQ is more expensive than the iRobot Roomba j7+, however, it offers better mapping and app features and superior cleaning performance on all surface types. It also charges faster and is less frequently caught on tassels of rug, which reduces recurring costs. Unfortunately, this model cannot avoid areas with pet bowls or furniture, and you'll need physical boundary strips to keep it out of certain objects.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

With sleek, elegant design that is a perfect match for your home's decor the Roomba 694 is a fantastic robot vacuum for those looking for an easy to use set it and forget it device. It will learn your habits of cleaning to provide you with a personalized schedule and also works with Google Assistant or Alexa voice assistants to allow you to start a clean with just the sound of your voice. It makes use of a wide range of sensors to navigate around the obstacles around your home. A smart bumper cushioned the impact when it crashes into furniture legs or walls. Four "cliff" sensors on the side and front alert it when it's close to the edge of a dropoff, such as the stairs or a balcony, and it's also able to reverse.

This model is a fantastic option for the robot vacuums that cost less than $300 price range. This model has a three-stage cleaning system that has a dual multi-surface brushes to remove dirt from carpets and hard floors. Edge-sweeping tools take the care of edges and corners. This robot vacuum also has numerous features for convenience that include Dirt Detect, which automatically spends more time in heavily-soiled areas. It can be set to clean at specified intervals of time and has an app for remote control.

The irobot combo Roomba 694 is not as advanced as the i7 that can self-empty its own trash compartment and doesn't come with an integrated mapping system or the ability to create virtual boundary markers. It's still a bit more robust and incurs fewer recurring costs than the less expensive RoboVac G30, has a much larger dustbin, charges faster, and can navigate around obstacles like electrical cords more easily and is more effective on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet as compared to the iRobot Roomba 614.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s is a small and attractive robot vacuum that offers an excellent value for the money. It has a large dirt container and can run for extended periods of time, and is good in cleaning pet hair. However, it's hard to maintain and has some issues with navigation. It doesn't come with voice control or a companion app, however, it does have a simple to use remote. It doesn't notify you when the dust bin is full. You'll need to check it regularly.

The eufy is superior to the bObsweep Bob Pro in many ways however it's not as effective as the iRobot Roomba 694 in a lot of others. The iRobot is built better, has less components that require regular maintenance, has a HEPA filter that is longer lasting on a single charge, and provides better cleaning performance on carpeted floors as well as carpets with high and low piles. It also has an improved navigation system that can navigate around obstacles, and has more advanced automation features such as boundary stripes.

Although the eufy remains a decent choice I would recommend the iRobot Roomba 900 Series for most users. The iRobot is more durable, easier to maintain, has a bigger dustbin, and has better performance on all surface types. It is also quicker to recharge and has longer battery life.

The eufy robot is better than the ILIFE A4s but not as effective as the top-end models like the Roborock S7 maxV Ultra. The iRobot is built better and has a bigger dust bin and has lower recurring costs. It also has more advanced automation capability including boundary lines, and a navigation algorithm that is more intelligent. The irobot self Emptying Vacuum is also better in taking in pet hair and it is more easy to maintain than eufy.
