The S8+ has a similar appearance and feel as the older Roborock S7 MaxV but comes with a more sophisticated mopping system. The DuoRoller and VibraRise mopping systems are superior in dirt and tangle elimination. With the upgraded HyperForce vacuuming power of 6000Pa, even the smallest dirt particles and debris can be removed without effort. With the Carpet Boost+ System, carpets will be free of pet hair and bread crumbs.

Other features include an interactive map of your home and the ability to create no-go zones or spot clean specific areas, and multi-level mapping that comes with the option of four different modes. The app lets you also design a route, or set an automatic cleaning schedule and also control your robot using voice commands if you're using it with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

The S8+ is a great choice for people who have medium to high-pile carpeting. And its low-enough noise level means you can use it while you work or watching TV using the phone. It's not recommended to use it to drive up or down stairs as it's ineffective at navigating that kind of surface. Its object avoidance isn't as strong as some of the other current Roborock models.

2. Eufy RoboVac 11S Max

The Eufy RoboVac 11S Max robot vacuum is a great carpet cleaner for the price. It's reasonably sturdy, the dirt compartment is decent size and the battery lasts for a long time. The only issue is the need for maintenanceThere are many parts to wash and replace regularly. There's no app that can tell you the time it's needed to be charged and emptied but the remote is able to order it to clean it right away or at a predetermined time.

The suction of the vacuum is incredibly quiet, and has a BoostIQ feature that automatically boosts the power when it detects dirtier floors. It is not as powerful as a professional floor cleaner however, it is great at cleaning dust off of hard carpets and floors with medium pile. It can also be steered manually to focus on particular rooms or areas.

It's not the most effective for getting rid of pet hair or for removing large particles, but it is better than some cheaper models that concentrate on cleaning just bare floors. It also does a decent job on carpets with a high pile. It can struggle to remove pieces of carpet that have been trampled, such as cereal, and it does not come with a spot-cleaning mode.

While the eufy is a superior model than the bObsweep Bob Pro, it's not as powerful as the iRobot Roomba i3. The eufy doesn't have mopping capability and may occasionally be unable to return to its original position. It is, however, a great option for a small or apartment home, especially if don't want to shell out extra for features that are smart.

4. Shark ION Robot AV753 Series

Shark's commitment to dependability can be seen in this robotic vacuum cleaner. It features the Tri-Brush System, which combines side brushes with channel brushes as well as a multi-surface roll for powerful cleaning of carpets and hard floors. It also has smart connectivity, which allows you to control it through the SharkClean app and with voice commands through Alexa and Google Assistant. Even in my chaotic office The LIDAR sensor is able to build an outline. This means that the robot cleans in a systematic manner rather than just randomly jumping off walls. It also has no problem climbing up on rugs that are tall. It's not smart enough to detect areas that require extra cleaning which would be great. It's also not able to switch between carpet and hard floors as some more expensive alternatives are able to.

Despite these shortcomings, the Wyze does an excellent job on floors with no padding and carpets with low pile. It's particularly adept at removing pet hair and dirt from hardwood floors. It's performance on high pile carpet is less impressive. You may need to make a few additional passes to remove all the larger pieces of debris, especially around the edges of the room.

The Wyze is very easy to install and use. Once you've connected the Wyze to Wi-Fi open the app and create an account for yourself. You'll need to select the name of your robot and choose whether or not you want it to be controlled by voice. The app will then ask you whether it's interested in calibrating the sensors and create a schedule. It's now time to use it. The only minor drawback is that it's too heavy for the dock, and it's more prone to get stuck at the shelves' bottom and catching the charging contacts underneath and preventing it from charging.
