iRobot Roomba combination adapts to your cleaning routine and suggests programs that are appropriate for you. Smart mapping, automatic scheduling, and Clean While I'm Away are some of the thoughtfully curated features powered by iRobot OS.

The iRobot app lets you review images of objects that the Combo J7+ can capture to help you understand the areas it should avoid (lamp cords, for instance). You can also modify the map by drawing specific zones that the robot should stay clear from.

Vacuuming

The Combo Essential has a powerful 4-Stage Cleaning System that vacuums and mop in one go, grabbing dirt from hard-to-reach places like under the couch. It utilizes smart navigation for wall-towall cleaning and to ensure that you don't fall on stairs. Sensors assist in navigating through furniture. Clean Base Auto-Fill Docks empty debris for up to 60 days, and refill liquid to ensure that it is able to clean itself autonomously. It's also compatible with a wider range of cleaning products than any other 2-in-1.

The Roomba combo is a powerful mopper, but it isn't equipped with some of the more sophisticated features that make the Roomba J7+ such an impressive sweeper and mover. It shifts from sweeping to mopping when it senses the presence of a damp surface. A small robot arm raises a little water tank/dustbin combo and a new pad is inserted into the cleaner when you press the button.

It was able to navigate smoothly even when the route was not clear. It's not the best in avoiding obstacles, but it was pretty quick to recognize and navigate around larger objects like socks and toys that block its path.

The app lets you alter your schedule, design an individual cleaning route and set up Keep Out Zones or Clean Zones to tell the robot where it should be. It also provides an overview of its actions and health status. You can even pair it with your Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant-enabled devices for voice control. The smart platform of irobot sale automatically updates Combo’s software with new capabilities and features.

It also learns from past cleaning missions, prioritizing dirtier rooms and altering settings such as suction and scrubbing intensities. The Clean Base auto-empties debris and refills the tank for 30 days of hands-free cleaning and it's compatible with all suitable cleaning solutions.

Object Detection

iRobot combo robots automatically detect and stay clear of objects such as stairs, sofas, tables chairs, pet toys, laundry hampers and other household clutter. They also employ sensors to recognize carpets and rugs, and then adjust their cleaning settings in accordance with the situation to prevent wet mess. They have an automatic dirt sensor that informs the robot when it is time to stop and return for more cleaning.

Smart Mapping allows Roomba to map your home seven times faster and name rooms so that you can start cleaning more quickly and customize Keep Out Zones and Cleaning Zones. The app or voice commands that are paired with Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant let you guide Roomba to specific rooms and areas.

Roomba is able to detect and avoid more than 80 common objects, such as power cords, shoes socks, backpacks pet toys, toilet bowls, kitty litter boxes and other floor dangers. Plus with Precision Vision Navigation, your iRobot Combo j7+ identifies and avoids solid pet waste.

With irobot self empty OS you can look at your robot's cleaning history which includes maps and data. You can even select the Dirt Detective feature that prioritizes cleaning the rooms with the most dirtiest conditions first. You can also see an estimated time frame so you know how long your robot will be at home. And iRobot OS makes thoughtful suggestions, like extra cleaning schedules during the pet shed season and is that are sent directly to your mobile device. You must be comfortable giving up personal information for any smart home device that manages and collects your space's data. In our tests, every company we reviewed was asked about the security measures for sensitive information. iRobot declares that it will not sell customer data, and outlines the Privacy Principles of its website.

Navigation

The Roomba Combo uses Imprint Smart Mapping technology to learn and map your floorplan and then re-maps it as required. You can map a room and then set your cleaning preferences through the iRobot App. The Roomba will then clean the area automatically when it comes to future missions. Roomba also provides Dirt Detective, which automatically sorts your rooms with the most dirt for the most frequent mopping or vacuuming. Its PrecisionVision Navigation is able to recognize and avoid items like charging cables, shoes, socks and pets toys. This feature can help you save time when you're trying to finish a task.

Battery Life

The Combo J7+ is powered with lithium-ion batteries, which offers plenty of power to keep your home clean. Its water and dust bin tank hold a total of 400 and 200 ml respectively, and the robot is equipped with a high-efficiency filter system to collect dirt particles and prevent them from returning to your floors. It is compatible with the iRobot app and voice assistants, so you can control it using your smartphone or other devices.

The Combo J7+ is also able to take pictures of objects in order to avoid them on future cleaning runs. However, iRobot chose not to include automatic mop pad washing, which is something we've seen more premium robotic cleaners include recently. This is a minor complaint, but it would be nice to have this feature on the Combo J7+. The Combo j7+ has a great warranty and is easy to use.
