During our testing it performed admirably on both hard floors and carpets with low pile. It's a little less adept at cleaning pet hair than a few of the top models we've tested, however, and it may become stuck on toys or cords when you don't pick them up prior to sending the robot out to clean.

The SwitchBot K10 plus is a great choice for those who want a powerful vacuum that also mop. This little robot has a compact form factor that lets it get into small spaces such as corners and under furniture that larger robots are unable to reach. It also has an advanced LiDAR sensor which can detect obstacles and avoid collisions.

During testing, the K10 Plus quickly and efficiently vacuumed dust, pet hair, crumbs and other debris from our carpeting and hardwood floors. It also did a great job of squeezing into tight spaces such as under our bed or around the chair's legs. It can be used to mop using a separate cloth or use a wet cloth. There is a small package of wet wipes included with the K10 Plus to get you started.

The application for K10 Plus is easy to use and understand. It offers several customization options like setting a no disruption time, changing the map layout and setting a schedule for when you'd like it to clean. In iRobot's tests, the S9+ was able to pick up pet hair and cat litter easily. It also performed admirably on hard floors, where its powerful motor could get through all types of flooring and corners and edges with ease. Its advanced vSLAM technology as well as Imprint Smart Mapping made it one of the top navigators we have. It can find its way through sofas or beds with draped valances over them.

The iRobot App is easy to set up and operate. You can choose the functions you want to activate when you first set up the robot, or wait until after you've gotten a feel for it. The S8 features upgraded HyperForce suction that is able to pick up fine hair and particles effortlessly. The app lets you modify the suction power. The device is able to automatically switch between energy-efficient 'Quiet 'Balanced', and 'Turbo" modes based on the surface it is cleaning. It also comes with an Carpet Suction Boost mode that enhances suction when the robot is on carpets.

You can control the S8 using one button, which also functions as a general "Clean button, or an 'Spot Clean button to direct the robot to that location.
